U.S. Air Force Academy Visitor Center and Chapel, Colorado Springs (always free)

The United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs has a unique visitor center and chapel area that is free and open to the public. Visitors can learn a wealth of information about the academy and it's history as well as view the planes on display. The Chapel is absolutely beautiful and due to it's unique architecture it's probably the most photographed building in all of Colorado.

9 am to 5 pm daily. The Chapel is not open for viewing during ceremonies or Sunday services.

14 miles north of Colorado Springs, I-25 exit 156b.

Access to the visitor center and chapel areas has been moved to the North Gate, it used to be accessed from the South Gate. The North Gate is off of Interstate I-25 exit 156B. You will need a photo I.D. and your vehicle may be searched. There are other procedures in effect to ensure the security of the Air Force Academy. To avoid a search, do not carry large bags and other large items while walking around the academy.
