Euclid Hall Denver Happy Hour (Downtown Denver)

Category: Denver Happy Hour Specials Last Updated: Monday, 04 May 2015

OK, I normally make it a policy to only check out Denver happy hours that have food specials with drink specials. However, when I saw that that 5280 had deemed Euclid Hall the best Denver happy hour, I had to check it out for myself. I went in skeptical, and came out satisfied and stuffed.

Euclid Hall is located in the historic district of downtown Denver. When you enter the restaurant, you can feel the oldness of the building. The high ceilings and the brick interior reminds you that this building was constructed in the late 1800's. As the server showed us to our table, I immediately noticed the chalkboard above the kitchen-Happy Hour 3-6 daily- $3 select drafts, wines and wells.

The happy hour beers at Euclid Hall are not your ordinary choices. The specials consist of microbrews from some of the locals' favorite brewing companies. Avery, Ska and the Great Divide Brewing company are all represented. I enjoyed the Great Divide Hoss Rye Lager, it was not too heavy and had a clean finish.

Even though Euclid Hall does not offer food specials during happy hour, I found the menu easy to navigate when in a happy hour frame of mind. The restaurant makes its own sausage, which you can order for $3-$8 each. My favorite was the beef short rib kielbasa. It was juicy and had a great meaty flavor. The turkey corn dog had a great dough around it, sweet and crunchy. The turkey was a little dry, I wish they would make this wonderful creation with a beef or pork hot dog. The sausages are served with four different in house made mustards. They are spicy, full of texture and just plain yummy.

My husband and I consider ourselves to be sort of “pickle connoisseurs”. We were excited to try the pickle sampler, which consisted of 4 different pickles. Our favorite was the hot and spicy pickle. It was crispy with a great vinegar/spicy flavor. The seasonal pickle, a dill, was not the best. It lacked flavor and crunchiness. I think Euclid Hall definitely got creative with their hops infused pickle. A tasty pickle that reminds you of a beer, nothing bad about that.

After gorging ourselves on sausages and pickles my, husband and I came to the conclusion that even though Euclid Hall doesn't have specific happy hour food specials, the menu has enough snacky items to make it worthy for this happy hour page. My husband said the next time we go, he's ready to try some meal choices, like the tri tip. I may let my sweet tooth take over next time with the homemade s'mores. Yes, I think we'll be back to Euclid hall.
